Golf Flyovers is a small app run by Jason Pardikes in Brighton, Colorado, for golfers who want to keep score, run a friendly bet and track their shots. This page says what it stores and what it does with it, in plain words.
What is stored
- Your account: your email address (to send you a sign-in code) and the name you choose. No password is stored; sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes.
- Your golf: rounds, hole scores, shots you mark (position, club, lie, result, any note you dictate), handicap figures, and the games and bets you take part in.
- Your position while you play: only while a round is open and the app is on screen, shared with the group you are playing in so friends can see where you are. If you turn on “Record my pace”, your position is also saved every 30 seconds during the round to measure how long holes take; those trails are deleted after 90 days.
- Technical: the app keeps a sign-in token and your settings on your own phone. It sets no advertising cookies and uses no analytics trackers.
Who can see it
- Members of a group you join can see your name, your scores in games you play together, the rounds you choose to share, and where you are while you play.
- Nobody outside your groups can see your data, unless you share a scorecard link yourself.
- If you turn on “Let my scores help course intelligence”, your hole scores, shot results and pace are pooled with other golfers’ to show things like the average score on a hole or how long it takes. That pool never shows names.
Money
The app keeps track of friendly bets between members of a group and who owes whom. It never holds, moves or collects money and is not a gambling service. Settling up happens outside the app, between you and your friends.
Your choices
- Turn position sharing, pace recording and the intelligence pool on or off under “What this app shows me”.
- Download everything the app holds about you as a file from the same screen.
- Delete your account there too. Your name, email and sign-in are removed at once. Rounds and shots stay only as nameless numbers, so group bets you took part in still add up and the pool stays honest.
Where it lives
Data is stored with Supabase (database, in the United States), sign-in emails go through Resend, and the pages are served by Vercel. Each of these processes data only to run the app.
